有一天看新聞專訪 Cirque du Soleil (一個加拿大的馬戲團).
I watched the news and knew that Cirque du Soleil had been performing in Orange County.
小瓜呆之前有看過他們的錄影帶, 非常喜歡他們的表演, 雖然是馬戲表演, 卻帶有故事性, 驚險演出, 讓我印象深刻
I once watched their VHS and was amazed by their performance. It was not just circus - there is usually a story line, not to mention that the circus was amazing.
知道他們在橘郡演出, 又收到六折優待票通知, 便決定去現場看看; 其實還是不便宜, 但是 Ji 情深義重, 陪我去看歌劇, 這次又陪我去看
I got 40% off email notice a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to go on Dec 4 - although it was not exactly cheap. Ji, again, came with me.
It took us 2.5 hours to drive from the Getty to Orange County during rush hour. Finally, We got there at 7, one hour prior to the curtain, and the parking lot was somewhat occupied already.
塞車塞了兩個半小時總算到了, 還好老闆讓我提早下班; 七點到時已經有很多人也到了, 但是戲八點才開始
* Because photography was not allowed inside, I could only take photo of the exterior.
因為裡面不能拍照所以只好照外面給大家看
表演節目叫 Corteo, 敘述一位丑角回顧一生; 圓形的臨時劇場, 直徑處設為舞台, 觀眾席像兩個半圓, 在舞台兩邊; 從外邊看覺得舞台不大, 可是真得進去坐, 覺得又高又大; 裡面的機關設計超讚, 很喜歡
It was ”Corteo,” describing a story of a clown who look back his life. The round theatre was divided into 2 half semi-circles by a rectangular stage in the middle. It appeared small viewing from outside but it was huge when you sat inside and looked up.
最喜歡的一段是與觀眾的互動: 有一位侏儒附在熱氣球上, 被推向觀眾席, 當她落U時, 台上的人鼓勵觀眾用力把她往上推, 如果推的不夠用力, 她就不太能移動, 只能在原處上下; 北邊的觀眾跟她玩一玩換南邊的, 觀眾笑聲連連, 大家都很熱情回應
The part I enjoyed most was the interaction b/t the performer and the audience. A dwarf was attached to some kind of hot balloon and was pushed toward the auditorium. The audience was encouraged to push her up if she happened to land on their hands. Some did not push her hard enough so she was not moving anywhere but just up and down at the same spot.
Everyone was captivated by this great interaction and it was so fun to watch. Although I sat too far - not enough space above me for her and the balloon to move.
我好愛看戲呀!

*Cirque du Soleil will visit Taiwan next year 太陽馬戲團明年要到臺灣演出啦!
